Profile

Nila with a gong

I am a qualified sound therapist, reiki practitioner, executive and lifestyle coach and academic. I studied Sound Therapy under Gong Master Simone Salvatici.

Proud of my Iranian heritage, I have lived and worked in different countries and draw on these influences in my practice as a sound therapist.

Life has many challenges, both big and small, and I believe we are designed to survive physically and emotionally which has always been the essence of life. Each of us is unique and an awareness of the individual mechanism for growth and protection is the key to our wellbeing.

My Dream

My family have always been very influential for me. During my childhood in Iran, I learnt from my grandparents and parents the importance of personal integrity. My father was a judge who refused bribes and always helped those who did not have a voice and could not be heard. Helping others was considered to be an important virtue and a human act which meant one should not be content when others were not.

I dream that one day every individual can access their inner strength and channel their energy to achieve equilibrium in their physical, mental and emotional being. I dream that we all master the art of self-healing and self-empowerment.

My deepest gratitude goes to those who taught me throughout my life, formally or informally, and made me who I am. I use my life experience to try to pass on joyful and fulfilled living.

What is Sound Therapy?

Sound therapy instruments 1

Sound is a form of energy. By using various instruments including Planetary and traditional Chinese gongs, Himalayan and crystal bowls, Koshi chimes, rainstick, shruti box and voice, I create an individual space and experience for you to receive that energy. These initiate a conversation with your body at the unconscious level and have a profound beneficial effect physically, emotionally and intellectually.

The use of sound in healing has a long history in ancient cultures. In Ayurvedic medicine the use of healing sound has been one of the main pillars of wellbeing, along with diet and massage, for more than thousand years.

Sound therapy is one modality amongst many holistic approaches of accessing your inner strength, which can help you unlock that healing potential.

What You Can Expect from a Session

My focus is on combining the therapeutic effect of sounds with deep self-reflection techniques to improve health and wellbeing.

Something impedes your life; physically, emotionally or intellectually. You have a desire to know, an intention to change.

The sound treatment flows from our initial conversation because body and mind are integrated, there is only bodymind.

The session involves you lying clothed on a treatment bed. The vibrating energy of the instruments interact with your body's energy at the unconscious level. It removes the physical tension and allows your body and mind to reach equilibrium; a condition necessary for healing and growth.
